LIV Golf is at risk of shutting down amid funding uncertainty. Multiple reports on Wednesday indicated that the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia was “on the verge of cutting its support for LIV.” Despite the reports, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil, in a staff memo obtained by FOS, said the league will continue with its 2026 season. “I want to be crystal clear: Our season continues exactly as planned, uninterrupted and at full throttle,” O’Neil wrote. By Wednesday evening, multiple reports indicated that the Saudi Arabia PIF, whose total spend on LIV’s operations is projected to surpass $6 billion by the end of this year, intends to continue funding LIV through the remainder of the 2026 season.
