  • As LPs continue to evolve their approach to building Asia private markets portfolios, HarbourVest’s Amanda Chen joined a panel at DealStreetAsia’s inaugural Asia Private Equity Leadership Summit in Hong Kong to explore how investors are adapting to a more complex and fragmented landscape. Alongside Randy Wang (StepStone Group), Pamela Fung (Morgan Stanley Investment Management), and Jonathan Goh (Adams Street Partners), Amanda’s panel discussed how LPs are rethinking portfolio construction across strategies, geographies, and investment routes—balancing diversification with the need to build deeper manager relationships. Moderated by Kavitha Nair (DealStreetAsia), the conversation also examined how structural shifts, including the regionalization of supply chains and increasing geopolitical considerations, are influencing allocation decisions and long-term portfolio resilience.

  • We welcomed the next generation to our offices for Bring Your Child to Work Day, hosted by our Families & Caregivers ERG (FACE). Designed as a “morning in the life” at HarbourVest, the program gave children an introduction to where their caregivers work and the many roles that support our firm. After a firm overview from COO Brett Gordon, families rotated through activities—from speaker sessions for teens to games and hands‑on projects for younger children. Employee Resource Groups also hosted interactive booths, highlighting the ways colleagues contribute to HarbourVest beyond their day‑to‑day work.

  • HarbourVest is pleased to support the development of CAIA Association's newest CAIA.nxt™ microcredential, Infrastructure – helping professionals evaluate opportunities across energy, transport, digital, and social infrastructure. “Effective infrastructure investing hinges on thoughtful diversification—across risk profiles, sectors, geographies, and fund structures—and a clear understanding of the tradeoffs between private and public markets,” said Benjamin Wu, Managing Director, HarbourVest Partners. “With the majority of the investable infrastructure opportunity set remaining private, investors need education that goes beyond surface level benchmarks to address how portfolios are constructed, accessed, and managed in practice. The CAIA.nxt™ Infrastructure Microcredential delivers that rigor, and HarbourVest is excited to partner with CAIA on a program that equips practitioners with the insight needed to build diversified, resilient infrastructure allocations.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/drC__ACW

  • Secondary allocations within private asset portfolios are often considered as tactical solutions. In our latest insight, we examine the data underpinning how the lower beta and stable return profile of secondary allocations can strengthen portfolio construction and improve the risk and return profile of mature private equity programs. • In a recent Mergermarket interview, Hemal Mirani, Managing Director and Head of APAC at HarbourVest, reflects on the firm’s early work building relationships across Asia Pacific and how those relationships have evolved alongside the region’s private markets. She discusses supporting investors and managers across the region through case studies, knowledge‑sharing sessions on due diligence, and insights drawn from HarbourVest’s global experience. Over time, those relationships have evolved as LPs have become more sophisticated, shifting from commingled fund‑of‑funds to tailored separately managed accounts (SMAs). The interview comes as HarbourVest marks 30 years of presence in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region, reflecting the firm’s long‑standing, on‑the‑ground engagement in the market. Hemal was recognized with a Special Achievement Award at the AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Capital Awards 2025, acknowledging her contributions to the growth of the region’s private equity and venture capital ecosystem. • Our Annual Meeting is one of the few moments each year when clients, partners, and colleagues from around the world come together in one place—sharing perspectives, strengthening relationships, and reinforcing the global network that underpins HarbourVest. Over time, those relationships have shaped how we navigate evolving markets, partner, and invest—grounded in consistency, collaboration, and long-term alignment. Every detail, down to the smallest touch, was thoughtfully considered to create a welcoming experience from the moment everyone arrived. We’re grateful for the many efforts that brought it all to life.
