Right now, demand feels unlimited. Enterprises are hedging their bets, decentralizing budgets, and testing multiple tools simultaneously to stay ahead – funded by the “Experimental Budget”. We are living through the rapid burst of new AI value, after a period of punctuated equilibrium. But much like evolutionary biology, this rapid explosion will inevitably be met with natural selection as experimental budgets sharpen focus. We’ve seen this show before in the education sector post-COVID-19.
The market will filter out the tools that merely offer "delight" and keep only the ones that possess durable long-term value. Are you building for the frontier, or are you building for the floor?

Today marks the beginning of a new era. We are now Cowboy Space Corporation.
We are building a power grid in outer space for artificial intelligence. Using an integrated system of satellites and rockets, we will send high-performance compute and optical data transmission to Low Earth Orbit.
To fuel this next chapter and the launch of our latest technology, we’ve raised a $275M Series B at a $2B valuation led by Index Ventures, with participation from new investors IVP, Blossom Capital and SAIC, alongside existing investors Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Construct Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, New Enterprise Associates-NEA, Interlagos and Baiju Bhatt.
Our constellation of satellites, Stampede, will harness abundant solar power to run on-orbit GPU data centers. With each launch, Stampede grows the power and compute capacity for humanity.
Earth's energy grid can't run at the pace of AI. We can.
Why now? AI is driving the largest infrastructure build-out in recent history, and the power grid on planet Earth can't keep pace. In major US markets, average grid connection lead times for new data centers can run 5-7 years or more. Meanwhile, AI demand is flat-out outgrowing Earth's pastures.
Full-Stack Architecture: Traditional architecture treats the rocket as a workhorse and the satellite as freight. In our system, the rocket's upper stage is the satellite itself. It's a 1-megawatt data center with active thermal management and integrated compute, designed as one unified vehicle from the ground up. We trim the fat on redundant structure and avionics, dedicating every possible kilogram of compute to Low Earth Orbit.
Furthermore, by owning our manufacturing and dedicated launch sites, we vertically integrate core technologies that enable deploying compute at scale.
Later this year, we are scheduled to launch our first satellite into orbit to demonstrate space-to-Earth power beaming. Our second mission, targeted for early 2027, will operate a cluster of GPUs for high-performance compute and demonstrate end-to-end optical data transmission from space to Earth. This will pave the way for the launch of our rocket, scheduled for the end of 2028.
AI is pushing infrastructure into a new set of limits, and one of the biggest is power.
Cowboy Space Corporation is built around that reality. The company is taking a vertically integrated approach across energy, compute, and launch, with a vision for building a power grid in space.
We backed Baiju Bhatt once before because he sees around corners and is willing to take on unusually hard problems. We’re partnering with him again because this is the kind of founder and ambition required to go after a constraint this important.

We’ve just released a new version of DeepL’s AI models - and in blinded tests conducted by professionals, DeepL wins 94% of head-to-head language tests vs major competitors. We have been leading translation quality since our launch in 2017 and the recent update is only extending this lead.
Technical background:
We tested across 16 priority language pairs. The experts we commissioned chose DeepL translations over the best available versions of other models, for:
• 100% of language pairs vs Google Translate
• 100% vs OpenAI GPT 5.2 (high reasoning)
• 100% vs Microsoft Translate
• 88% vs Google Gemini 3.1 Pro (high thinking)
• 81% vs Claude Opus 4.6 (high reasoning)
We have tested for meaning, precision and language nuance, across 48’000 - obviously blinded - evaluations. These results are achieved with best-in-class latency (i.e. severely outcompeting all reasoning models)
