“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” — Jackie Robinson Major League Baseball celebrated Jackie Robinson Day by inviting all employees to take part in our “42 Unity Day” photo. Staff came together to honor Jackie, recognizing his courage, determination, brilliance on the baseball diamond, and his grace and dignity beyond the game. Jackie’s influence has spanned generations — from the legends who followed, to today’s greats and the stars of tomorrow. We are all grateful for the impact he continues to have on our game and beyond. In that spirit, we also partnered with artist Chuck Styles to create “We Are Jackie” original artwork. A limited series of seven replica prints, each individually signed and numbered by the artist, will be auctioned off, with net proceeds benefiting the Jackie Robinson Foundation. #Jackie42 #JackieRobinsonDay #MLBTogether

March honored Women’s History Month, and our MLB Women ERG hosted a series of meaningful activations focused on mentorship, supporting small businesses, and amplifying the voices and experiences of women in sports and beyond. We led off the month with our annual International Women’s Day photo and reception with OMG Pretzels and collaborated on a powerful multi-league panel hosted by Proskauer, with employees from MLB, MLS, NFL, NHL, NBA, PWHL, USTA, WNBA, and League One Volleyball in attendance. We then hosted our 7th Inning Stretch: A Quali-tea Afternoon with Brooklyn Tea, celebrating women’s leadership while supporting Girl Scout Troop 6000. Lastly, we created space for connection through our Let’s Do Lunch gathering, strengthening relationships across teams. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped bring these moments to life. Together, we continue to foster a culture where women are celebrated, empowered, and supported. #WomensHistoryMonth #MLB #WomenInSports #MLBWomenERG

To contribute toward our goal of 250,000 hours of service in 2026, in honor of America’s 250th birthday, MLB employees joined Rise Against Hunger to pack over 5,000 meals for those in need. Volunteers worked together to assemble bags full of readily available nutritious meals to be packed and distributed to communities facing food insecurity. During the event, Major League Baseball was also presented with a Rise Against Hunger commemorative gong to celebrate that, through our partnership, we have packed 100,000 meals—directly impacting people around the globe who need it most. #MLBTogether

Continuing an #OpeningDay tradition in New York City, MLB HQ led off the 2026 season by raising the Opening Day flag and celebrating the return of baseball throughout the office. In between working on 11 Opening Day games across the league, employees were treated to ballpark favorites across every floor, from classic hot dogs to tacos and sliders, bringing the spirit of the game to midtown Manhattan. Outside the office and MLB Flagship Store, MLB’s newest broadcast partner, NBCUniversal Sports, brought an exciting activation to fans with a larger-than-life baseball and home plate in the middle of the sidewalk.

Amazing energy from our MLB Well ERG team at this year’s Cycle for Survival event in support of the important work being done at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. MLB employees across both coasts came together in New York and Los Angeles to take part in the high energy cycling relay, riding in shifts to help raise funds for cancer research. No cycling experience required, just a willingness to show up, ride, and support a meaningful cause. Through the efforts of our riders and those who donated, Team MLB helped support this life-saving research focused on rare cancers. Last year alone, our team raised over $14,000, continuing to rally and inspire our community around this event each year. Thank you to everyone who rode, donated, and supported along the way! #CycleForSurvival #MLB #CancerResearch #ERG #MLBWellERG

In honor of Black History Month, our MLB Black ERG hosted two events in February. The first celebrated former MLB player Micah Johnson and his path from the baseball field to a career in art during their 7th Inning Stretch. He shared his journey and offered powerful perspectives on purpose, reinvention, and creative courage. For the second, they hosted their Future Leaders Program, where guests Mandell Crawley, Chanel Murff, Candice Drakeford, and Kayla Roberson spoke to students about being their authentic selves in a corporate environment. They shared valuable and lasting insights from their own experiences to help guide the next generation of leaders. #MLBERG #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM #MLBBlackERG

In January, our ten Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) and MLB Green Team, hosted our bi-annual MLB ERG Open House. This event allows us to highlight our internal initiatives, talents, and multicultural communities across the League Office. We hosted small and local businesses, had MLB ERG merchandise and giveaways, and a raffle for employees to enter once they collected all 12 stamps from each respective group. A fun atmosphere that set the tone for an exciting and rewarding 2026 MLB season ahead.

In celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, MLB’s Baseball & Softball Development department was proud to host our fourth annual event honoring the incredible women shaping our industry. This week we welcomed Jennie Finch, Rachel Folden, Natasha Watley OLY and Veronica Alvarez as VIP guests to our headquarters for a day of panel discussions and networking with league and Club officials. The event brought together 60 collegiate softball and baseball athletes to celebrate and recognize the positive influence of Women and Girls in sport, and gave them the chance hear from current women in sports. Panelists included MLB’s Sarah Horvitz, Allison Creekmore and Alex Cadicamo, MiLB’s Emma Tiedemann and the VIP guests. It was an inspiring look at the business of baseball and softball through the lens of the women who lead it. We’re honored to host this space and look forward to seeing these trailblazers help lead the next generation in sports!
