I am loving my local Giant pharmacy and the app. The level of customer service is WELL ABOVE multiple chain stores. They care about you, your health, your experience and it shows rather you call in to ask questions or talk to the staff face to face. When I seen the App on a sign at the pharmacy- the staff even took the time to walk me through the app and showed me how I could quickly and easily transfer my scripts from other locations. I inquired about vaccination and they step aside and answered every question. I am a cancer patient and get so nervous with so many medications and for the first time in several years - since i switched to this app and this giant pharmacy I actually feel safe knowing these people treat me as their patient and will help protect my wellbeing! The app is user friendly and could easily be used by even those without computer experience- thank you Giant!!

This app has been very helpful over the years with getting my refills of my medications. The one thing that would make things much easier is to have a section where prescriptions could go in the history area if the prescription has expired or has no refills left. Having chronic illnesses and being on multiple medications I have to do quite a bit of scrolling and detective work to request refills since everything is in my history for the year. Even medications that the doctor has taken me off of. It would also be helpful if the patient could move them into this location. It would also be helpful if the patient could leave notes about the medication since there seems to be a lot of back orders of numerous medications. That way we can put down any side effects or issues with a certain manufacturer. Not all generics are created equal!! Please reach out to me if you would like to further discuss these changes I’m talking about. I’d be more than happy to test a beta version.

Many years ago, I left Giant Food after having great results with very very few complaints. I am a night person and giant was one of the very few places that had 24 hour pharmacy service. I switched to Walgreens because it was walking distance from my home, and I wanted to support my local business. They advertised 24 hour service for the pharmacy, but that never happened. At first they were open until midnight, then progressively ended up closing at 9 PM During the week and even earlier on the weekends… Completely unacceptable when you advertise that you will be 24 hours!At first, there were many very kind and compassionate workers at the pharmacy counter at my Walgreens. But within a few years, that became a pharmacy run by people who would step in and out of a rotating door. There was no consistency and at times I was even told there was no manager for the pharmacy department! Once Covid hit, it got far worse… They were signs on the drive-through that said no prescriptions available here. But of course, patrons like myself could not read that sign until we pulled up to the window. How absurd! To make matters worse, they further limited the hours, and on occasion, would have a sign again posted in the window, saying that no pharmacist was available so no medication's could be dispensed! Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional! Their app promised to be the end all and include everything, but would frequently tell me that my prescriptions are ready for pick up, however, when I got there to ask for them, they told me that they didn't even have a record of me requesting refills! how unprofessional can you get?Even though it has been years since Giant was run by Izzy, I am proud to be back doing business with a company that appreciates my business and still provides outstanding customer service. Update on 25Jul2025: The most recent update from 2 days ago has crashed the App. Now it refuses to open. I deleted and redownloaded. After the splash screen, the App still crashes. I'm using an iPhone7, iOS 15.8.4, 256gb, no other Apps open. Giant should make the pharmacy accessible via an internet browser if they are not going to make an App that is functional. It pains me to write this but Giant Pharmacy developers could learn some things from Walgreens. I had Walgreens for years and while their App frequently has issues or does not work at all, at least you could log into their website and address most of your pharmacy needs. Not so with Giant Pharmacy, which when it works is the most rudimentary of applications. The in store pharmacists told me do not bother with the App, just call the store. As for the website, the Pharmacy module is useless other than providing a phone number and street address. ➡️My opinion should not reflect on the in store service which is superb.
