    Hi,
after updating to 1.2.7.5 categories are not longer shown but child categories with active posts. Before categories and child categories are shown.
This did not change after the latest update to 1.2.7.6.
In earlier version in menu there were categories AND child categories with active posts.

I do not understand the sense of this change.

    Hi,

do you have hide empty categories active at the settings? If yes please set it to no and retry.

    Hi,

yes, hide empty categories is set to yes. If I set them to NO, all parent and child categories are shown, even if they are empty.
But this is not what I wanted. I wanted to show only categories with posts and their parent categories, what has been the fact before 1.2.7.6.

But you have “Lock recursive” set to “No”, right? If I’m right that shouldn’t had to work, and if it was a bug. Hiding empty categories should hide empty categories… I’m sorry but that’s it what it should be.

I could implement a third option keep parents if there children are not empty. But that makes not much sense to me. Lets assume the following scenario:

    – Parent Category
    — Sub Category 1
    — Sub Category 2

If you lock “Parent Category” with lock recursive on it will hide the full tree. If you have turned the feature off it will remove the parent category from the tree (you can choose every single category, you want to hide). If you want to hide a sub category you choose the sub category.

So why should you want to show an empty category if there is nothing in? Maybe there is some setup I currently didn’t thought of, so just let me know and I will see to implement the feature in a future release.

    Ok, may be a misunderstanding…

With 1.2.7.5 it works like follows:
Lock recursive set to NO it shows-
    – Parent 1 – Parent 2 – Parent 3
    — Sub 11 — Sub 21 (posts) — Sub 31 (posts)
    — Sub 12 — Sub 22 (posts) — Sub 32 and so on…

Lock recursive set to YES it shows-
    – Parent 2 – Parent 3
    — Sub 21 — Sub 31
    — Sub 22

With 1.2.7.6 it works like follows:
Lock recursive set to NO it shows-
    – Parent 1 – Parent 2 – Parent 3
    — Sub 11 — Sub 21 (posts) — Sub 31 (posts)
    — Sub 12 — Sub 22 (posts) — Sub 32 and so on…

Lock recursive set to YES it shows-
    – Sub 21 – Sub 22 Sub 31

All parent categories now has disappeared even if sub categories are not empty.

I hope you can see the difference between 1.2.7.5 and 1.2.7.6.
I just updated to 1.2.8 but I got the same result.

Since 1.2.7.6 it’s like it should be, but I will add a option, like ‘hide only categories if also their children are empty’.

    Ok, that should help.
Thanks for your patience and support.

I was wrong, sorry for that. The settings page says “Selecting “Yes” will hide empty categories which are containing only empty childes or no childes.” so I have restored the old behavior. Please update to 1.2.11

That is great. It works now as before. Perfect!
    Thanks for all that.
