Switched over to Imagify about a week ago. I’m not sure there’s an issue with your plugin, but it’s a good place to start. I’ve suddenly noticed there are content images (no featured) missing on some posts. I checked for plugin incompatibility and cleared cache. After reading one of your replies here, I turned optimization off and cleared cache. No change. I turned it back on. I didn’t touch Lazy Load, which is through WP Rocket. Also, I use Media Hygine – last scan five days ago. Again, maybe it has nothing to do with Imagify, but I’d appreciate it if you’d take a look. Thank you…

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us.

The only option in Imagify that might cause layout issues is the <picture> tag method for displaying WebP images.

To address this, please disable the “Display images in Next-Gen format on the site” option in your Imagify settings, clear all caches (including any caching plugins, browser cache, and CDN cache if applicable), and check if the issue is resolved.

If you don’t use Cloudflare or a CDN, you can switch to the rewrite rules method in Imagify settings as it is a safer way to serve next-gen images.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much for your reply. None of the above resolved the issue, which leads me to believe it’s definitely a problem somewhere on my end. For example, I noticed some of the missing images were ones I downloaded, scaled, and uploaded to media library on my iPhone. One more thing, if I may. This note is on my dashboard. Could it be involved? It seems that you have 577 optimized images without Next-Gen versions. You can generate them here. Again, thank you.

P.S. Has this been resolved? The process is taking a long time…https://imagify.io/documentation/generate-missing-webp-versions-feature-is-stuck/

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

Regarding the “Generate missing Next-Gen version” tool, unfortunately, there is a known glitch where sometimes it’s not related to generating Next-Gen itself, but to that counter, which might be wrong. Our developers are aware and I really hope that it will be improved soon.

However, a way to check that all your images are converted in Next-Gen is to enable the display WebP option(Settings > Imagify), and check the next-gen status of a few images in the media library: https://imagify.io/documentation/enable-webp-images-works/

You can check if a Next-Gen version of an image is created if you append .webp or .avif at the end of the image URL.

Coming to the missing image issue, if deactivating next-gen display in Imagify settings or using the Imagify plugin itself did not resolve the issue, it is not related to Imagify.

While inspecting the website, I noticed a 404 error for the following image: https://shottr.cc/s/1GAu/SCR-20250828-iti.png. The image link also leads to not found on server: https://chipur.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Stanford-SAINT-e1754846448747.jpg. Maybe you need to verify the presence of image or re-upload it.

Thank you for your reply – and checking on the image. Yes, appears there’s a problem on my end, not yours. Looks like I have a lot of re-uploading to do. Regarding “Generate missing Next-Gen version,” I’ve seen that it’s been a known glitch for quite some time. I’m hoping you’ll notify users when it’s resolved. Again, thank you.
