Smaller image displays

I installed a plugin to try out, which did something to the way Firelight Lightbox displays images. I uninstalled that plugin, but the display is still not right. Luckily, most of the pages are coming from a site-wide cache. But anything new gets the strange-looking, smaller image display. Here is an old post with cached content:

The images will display upon click as I would expect them. Now compare that to a recent post that has its cache cleared:

If you click on an image in the gallery, it will attempt to display a wider image, but will revert to a smaller one closer to the top left.
The lightbox is set to FancyBox V2. If I change it to FancyBox Classic Reloaded, it displays images as large as expected but that setting does not allow me to change the title position to “Outside”, there is no option for that at all.
I tried restoring my site from a backup from two days ago, that did not help. So, I will appreciate your guidance and help to bring things back to normal as they used to behave in the first link.

I should add to the above description that the problem is visible on some computers. I described it as I experienced it on my laptop, but on my desktop, both links are displaying properly. I am more confused now!
On my laptop, the problem image display looks like this:

Stay tuned, I may be onto something.
Yes, I restored a 6-day old backup and the problem I reported got fixed! Then, I updated the plugins that needed updating once more. When I updated SlimStat Analytics plugin, the problem returned. I had to do this restore and test a couple of times. Eventually, I disabled auto updates to SlimStat and so far the lightbox display seems to be normal on my laptop. Of course, I don’t have the slightest idea why!
I am marking this issue resolved, although it is still at the mercy of a plugin update.
