Is there a way to hide the Affiliate link option in the editor so ONLY Admins can see the link? My blog is open to Contributors, I don’t want them using the affiliate link button (even though I am the only one who inputs and manages the actual links). I just want to Hide the button in the editor to all but Admins.

Thanks, I like your plugin and could really use this feature. Hope your next update is soon! šŸ™‚

We’ve just released version 1.1 which includes the possibility to change the role or capability required to see the Affiliate Links icon in the editor. It can be changed on the Easy Affiliate Links > Settings page.

Awesome. I will install it today! Thanks much.

Ok, it crashed my site, gave this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-affiliate-links/helpers/shortcode.php on line 31

What version of PHP are you using?
I made a change to the plugin that should make it work with older versions of PHP. Could you try removing the plugin and installing it again?

    I have PHP v. 5.3.29.
I will reinstall, but I can’t “remove” the plugin since it’s technically not running as I renamed the directory folder. So, I assume all my links, etc. are no longer good and I have to start over?

    I’ll let you know.

I’ve reinstalled. It seems to be working and it did not lose my data (which is a really good thing since I have dozens of links throughout the site!) I’ll let you know if I run into any other problems.

Good to hear it’s working now. Feel free to remove the folder you renamed via FTP.

Deleting the plugin doesn’t actually delete the links, so you don’t have to worry about that.
