Installing the Classic Widgets plugin fixed this for me. It uses the old widget interface, but if you get blocks, you should find it relatively intuitive.
Hmm, am having similar problems to this and seeing this was resolved by using a different plugin isn’t exactly hopeful. Will you be updating the plugin soon?
