We’re excited to share that Alta’s Phoenix office has earned a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business designation from the League of American Bicyclists! This recognition celebrates employers that are helping make bicycling safer, easier and more welcoming for their teams and communities. Alta is proud to be one of only eight Bicycle Friendly Businesses in Arizona — and the only one currently designated in the city of Phoenix. Congratulations to our Phoenix team (pictured here on one of their rides) for living Alta’s values and helping demonstrate how businesses can support more sustainable, active and connected communities. #WorldBicycleDay https://lnkd.in/eWyH4-3E

California leads the country in outdoor recreation, generating more than $81.5 billion in value added and supports more than 545,000 jobs statewide. But there's still major opportunity to better align industry leaders, Tribal and community partners, policymakers, workforce development organizations and land managers around a shared strategy for the future. That’s why the inaugural California Outdoor Economy Summit is such an important moment for the state. Alta Principal Jeff Schwein, AICP CTP will be attending the Summit in Eureka, CA, from June 3–5, joining leaders from across the outdoor recreation sector to discuss how we build resilient, place-based economies through outdoor access and infrastructure. If you're attending, connect with Jeff to talk about all things trails, active transportation, recreation planning and the future of California’s outdoor economy! Big news for shared micromobility in Portland! The Portland Bureau of Transportation has released the Better BIKETOWN: Shared Micromobility Business Model Study, a roadmap for the next generation of bikes, e-scooters and other small, shared vehicles in Portland. As BIKETOWN approaches 10 years of service, this study looks ahead to how the system can become more accessible, financially sustainable and better integrated with Portland’s broader transportation network. Alta is proud to have partnered with PBOT on this study and the original launch of the BIKETOWN bike share program, including system planning, demand modeling, and station siting. We're excited to see the program grow and adapt to better serve Portland for the decade ahead. https://lnkd.in/gvH3ETJH

Red Tail Crossing, Westchester’s (CA) first 100% affordable housing community, has officially achieved LEED Gold certification! Developed by Community Corporation of Santa Monica and supported by Raimi + Associates, an Alta company, the new community provides 102 homes for households earning between 15% and 60% of the Area Median Income, including apartments reserved for individuals experiencing homelessness and residents living with disabilities. Named in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen, the pioneering African American pilots of World War II, Red Tail Crossing features murals throughout the property celebrating their legacy of courage, resilience and perseverance. We were honored to support this impactful project as the green building consultant and Green Rater. Congratulations to the entire project team on creating a community that advances both housing equity and environmental stewardship. https://lnkd.in/gGYGEYAQ
